Event description

The ethnic diversity of our profession matters, as does our ability to support clients from UK ethnic minorities. In this NICEC online seminar, career development practitioners from minority ethnic backgrounds will discuss their work, the importance of representation and their own perspectives on race equality and career development practice.

Seminar participants from all backgrounds will share their responses and consider how their own views and experiences impact their own practice, be it in career development research, delivery, education, or policy work.

Programme

Gill Frigerio, Associate Professor, Centre for Lifelong Learning, University of Warwick: Race, culture and career development work – the issues we need to address.

How do these needs impact on different sectors of career development work, from schools to private practice?
How can practitioners reflect on their own ethnic and cultural heritage to inform this work?
